BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker," the latest installment in the "Star Wars" film franchise, will be put on general release on the Chinese mainland on Dec. 20, the film's official Weibo account announced Friday.
Featuring the battle between the surviving Resistance and the First Order, the film will run preview screenings in mainland theaters starting Dec. 18.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi," which hit mainland theaters in January 2018, grossed nearly 270 million yuan (about 38.4 million U.S. dollars) in the world's second-largest film market.
