KIGALI, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) Secretary General Francois Ngarambe expressed readiness to enhance media cooperation with China on Wednesday while he met with visiting Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency He Ping here.
During the meeting, Ngarambe said Rwanda and China have enjoyed sound cooperation in various fields, on the basis of which Rwanda hopes that further efforts will be made to promote bilateral media cooperation.
Ngarambe pointed out that Xinhua News Agency is distinctively different from some foreign media in that it has always conducted news reports on Rwanda that are more authentic, more objective and more just.
Ngarambe expressed hope that people around the world will gain a better understanding of Rwanda through Chinese media reports.
The editor-in-chief of Xinhua said that with China-Rwanda relations standing a new historic starting point, Xinhua News Agency highly values its reports on Rwanda and other African countries, and stands ready to further enhance cooperation with Rwandan media in playing their roles as bridges linking the friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Rao Hongwei was present at the meeting.
He paid the visit to Rwanda at the invitation of the New Times Publications Ltd of Rwanda. During the visit, He witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement by Xinhua Kigali Bureau and the New Times Publications Ltd of Rwanda.
