LONDON, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A man claiming to have a bomb at London's Charing Cross underground station has been arrested, the British Transport Police (BTP) said Friday morning.
Police officers were called to the tube station this morning. Both the underground and mainline stations were evacuated as a precaution and a cordon was put in place while officers dealt with the incident, the BTP said.
A 38-year-old man was detained by officers and has been taken to a place of safety.
The BTP said they are working to reopen the station as soon as possible.
